Although Lee Scott was not an MP when the vote was made to go to war with Iraq. he makes it absolutely clear that he would have supported for the war.

“Our involvement [War on Iraq] could have been better thought out, but that does not mean that it was wrong to remove a vile dictator who could not care less about his own people.”

Is Regime Change Lawful? Should the MP for Ilford North be condoning Regime Change?

In his legal advice to British Prime Minister Tony Blair on the legality of the Iraq war, Attorney General Lord Goldsmith describes regime change in Iraq as a disproportionate response to Saddam Hussein’s alleged failure to disarm, illegal in the eyes of international law. Goldsmith stresses that in terms of legality, “regime change cannot be the objective of military action.” [1]
